Quote of the Day (another half-assed series)

Y'all have Popeyes out in Beaumont? I know some of y'all you got that cold Popeyes out for breakfast. I know. That's why y'all laughing. ... You can't do that. Children have to have proper nutrition. That affects also how they study, how they learn in school.

Just when I was starting to like the Serbs again...

... they try to burn down our goddamn embassy!

What a bunch of assholes! Why do they even care about Kosovo's independence, anyway? Serbians should realize that their country is nothing more than a pissant relic with a dim future (with or without Kosovo). Maybe if they acted in their self-interest, and peacefully ceded a few sheep farms, they might be allowed to rejoin the civilized world.

Schmucks.

I've got a crush on (the other) Obama

I drank the Barack Obama Kool-Aid a couple of months ago, but my decision was based more on pragmatism than inspiration. I thought, if this guy can win in Iowa, then he will prove that he is the Democrat that's most capable of reclaiming the White House. Then he won. Since then, he has repeatedly outperformed Sen. Clinton in red and purple states. He has also shown a consistent, impressive appeal to Independents and (sane) Republicans. He has also motivated a tidal wave of first-time voters. As such, I believe his nomination would bode very well for the November election and the future of the party.

Emotionally, it is a different Obama that has captured my heart: Michelle. After seeing her on C-Span a few times, then her Larry King interview last week, I've
now got a crush on Obama. Seeing her become First Lady has become my greatest hope for 2008. For the unfamiliar, Newsweek released a couple of great profiles today here, and here.

Ms. Obama will take a lot of heat in the coming days for certain comments she made this weekend. She will be called "unpatriotic" or worse. For me, the truth of her words only made me fall deeper in love.
